The last rum distillery in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Mr. Donald Nelthropp is the last rum producer on St. Croix and supplies the whole of America with his products. We visited him in 2005. He was pleased to see guests from Germany and gave us a guided tour of his factory.

He subjected our gift – a bottle of Braasch rum – to a “gas chromatographic” analysis. The result convinced him. He compared the content and values with the top types of Meyer’s Rum.

He gave us the sheet with the results with the words: “Now take this sheet back to Germany and be proud of it.”

We are – and were delighted that he and his son Gary gave us so much of his time and that our Braasch rum is now in his collection of over 100 types from all over the world.
